George P. McAndrews, YN-3, 1956 - - Submitted 7/5/10

Dear Sirs,

My father George P. McAndrews served on the U.S.S. Estes AGC-12 from January through December of 1956 that encompassed Operation Red Wing. He was in the legal office and was a Yeoman Petty Officer 3rd Class. He is alive and well, living in the Chicago area. My uncle, George's younger brother, Thomas P. McAndrews, served onboard the U.S.S. Estes AGC-12 at exactly the same time (they had to receive a waiver of the Sullivan Rule). He worked in the Operations Office, also as a Yeoman Petty Officer 3rd Class. He too is alive and well, living in Punta Verde, Florida.
