My father, LTJG RET Lawrence W. Pettett, passed away this past week, and I found a file titled "A Brief History" that appears to be in his own words and style of writing. He served on the USS Estes from 1951-1953, participated in Operation Ivy, and was one of the last surviving members of what he referred to as "The Glow-In-The-Dark Society."
