Eugene H Schumacker, Jr. My nickname aboard ship was “Shoe”. I was a TE3 in the Operations Div. I was in charge of the post office, which was located at the starboard side entrance to the chow hall, from May, 1957 to October, 1958.

I do remember playing a lot of double deck pinochle and having month long poker games.
What a ship.
