Cecil Smothers - DC-FN - 1950-54 - Submitted 09/12/31
My stepfather used to tell me about his experiences aboard the USS Estes with great pride. His name was Cecil Smothers and he served from 1950-1954. He said he was a damage control man, a fireman. He spoke often of the many atomic tests he witnessed, especially the first test of a hydrogen bomb. I wonder if any other crew members remember him?
