2008 USS Estes Reunion Scrapbook

Shipmates, wives, and guest: We are excited to offer you the following information so that you may plan to make your reservations for our 22nd annual reunion.

City: Grand Rapids, MI Place: Country Inns & Suites, 3251 Deposit Drive, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 Phone: 616-942-7000 (Tell them you are with the USS Estes Association)

Dates: September 3 - 6, 2008 (Departure September 7)
Room Rate: $89.00 standard, plus tax. Call & Make your own reservations
Cut-Off Date: August 3, 2008, after that based on availability - price not guaranteed
Country Inns & Suites is a non-smoking facility
Check In: 3:00pm Check Out:12:00 noon
Free Parking behind the main building
Country Inns & Suites is located on East Beltline about two miles from the airport, should you be flying notify us of flight number and ETA and date
Continental Breakfast each morning.
Hospitality Room: Free food and drink by the Association. No alcohol on the property.

Registration & Membership Fees:

• Registration: $110.00 per person (for those attending)
• Membership: $20.00 Those served plus associates
• 50/50 Raffle: $20.00 (not mandatory but appreciated - you will receive tickets.

At this date our program is not finalized but will be posted here. Should you need to cancel prior to August 3, call us and we can accomodate.

Reunion Coordinator & Planner Remarks:

As, for the past 22 years, Noah Joyner & Dick Steenbergen along with their supporting wives, Jane & Marge, have tried to take the Estes Association to choice of its members. We have been successful more than not. We are in Dick's hometown this year so that we may give him a break and hopefully make him proud. Let's remember that you all  had a proud ship here whether it was WWII, Cold War, Korea, Vietnam or the many operations to embed her legacy in the Pacific. We have a website and we are ever searching for shipmates of the past so join us if you can that we may realize our mission.
